In January 2021, Blair Braden, CFP, and his wife, Karen, made a big decision for their family: they moved to Steamboat Springs, CO. They were attracted to the Yampa Valley for the smaller, family-rooted community surrounded by ranching and ski culture—a town where the cowboys have a skiing problem.
Since moving to Steamboat, they have become entrenched in the community and have brought the services of DWM to Northwest Colorado. Blair is an active Steamboat Springs Rotary Club member, allowing him and DWM to support the community by helping sponsor Rotary’s annual Lobsterfest and Botanic Garden’s passport event. Community involvement is important to the Braden family, investing both financially and with their time.
Albeit young, both Bodhi and Zurie have joined their parents with different community support opportunities. They aren’t quite pulling their weight yet and sometimes are more “in the way,” but Karen and Blair want their children to learn early the importance of supporting their community.
